“Curving Light”
In a way I’m backing up a bit in this post. Still in abstract mode, but going auto, as in automobile!! ![]()
Going back to January, and the time of the NAIAS in Detroit! Well as most of you know, at all these auto shows there are a ton of flashing multicolored lights everywhere, boat loads of people, and many other distractions that can make getting the shot you want of a car a bit hard.
I came away with plenty of nice shots, and even some of the SRT Viper, which is the car used in this image. I really loved the bright yellow, and the way the vents on the hood curve, soooo in addition to regular shots, I also got this one as an abstract.
Yes it is bright, shiny, full of light, flashy, and don’t forget, bright yellow….but that’s what it’s all about!! Right!! ![]()
This car is really a totally cool sports car, and truth be told, when I was a child, I always wanted to own a bright yellow Porsche. Hhhmmm, I guess I could settle for the SRT Viper instead!! ![]()
How about you? What type of car did you want as a child?

That is so cool. I love the way this came out.
Thanks very much Edith!! I really appreciate it!!
What a cracker the picture within the picture
Thanks so much Scott!!!
very nice shot! beautiful shape of the light
Thank you so much Kazumi!! I really appreciate the lovely comment!!
That is so cool, Rachel. I Love those light reflections too, they really add to the impact. Wouldn’t mind a muscle car – mind you I did once own a Porsche, but only a 924, and that doesn’t really count!
Hey Andy, I like the 924!!
Thanks so much for the wonderful comments!!
924, really? That’s only about a half step above a 914, but still at least 7-8 steps below a “real” Porsche.
LOL, yep, when I was a child I actually wanted a bright yellow 914. My tastes have changed a bit though with the clarity of age!!
Great composition Rachel. Though I don’t do it much, this is the way I like to photograph cars, just a little piece here or there.
Hi Jeff, thanks very much for stopping by!! I really appreciate the comment!! I also love to photograph the bits and pieces. The whole car isn’t too shabby either!!
Great shot, Rachel, totally unique! What a great expression!!
Thank you so much Toad!! Your kind works really mean a lot to me!!
